Andreas Mehler reviews a recent book on electoral violence in Sub-Saharan Africa
Andreas Mehler, member of the ISP team at GIGA, has reviewed a recent book on electoral violence in Sub-Saharan Africa. The book, edited by Darina Bekoe, gathers a the work of renowned scholars on elections and electoral violence, including ISP's Timothy D. Sisk. Mehler highlights the book's strengths, such as the combination of quantitative and qualitative insights about electoral violence, and discusses shortcomings, such as the book's relative lack of focus on local arenas of electoral violence. But he concludes that Bekoe's edited volume is "very inspiring" and "certainly worth reading".
